Cabinet Accepting Comments on Draft Mitigation Plan for Volkswagen Settlement Funds
The Energy and Environment Cabinet has released a proposed Beneficiary Mitigation Plan outlining how Kentucky plans to use the Mitigation Trust Funds allocated to Kentucky through the Volkswagen Settlement. Kentucky is projected to receive $19 million as part of a national settlement with the automaker Volkswagen over allegations of cheating on emission tests. Kentucky's draft plan details how the funds will be used to reduce excess emissions. Interested parties have many ways to submit comments on Kentucky’s Draft Plan:
- A Public Meeting to take comment on the plan will be held on September 5, 2018, at the offices of the Energy and Environment Cabinet, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort, Kentucky from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m.
- Comments may be submitted directly to the Energy and Environment Cabinet, Office of Energy Policy through an Electronic Comment Form.
- Comments can be emailed directly to the agency at: Ky.email@example.com
